Stop normalizing crimes by elected officials. Stop tolerating them. Stop pretending they will quit if you ignore them. Stop assuming that people will vote for you "just because we're not that Other Guy."

Normalize impeachment.

I’d like to add stop accepting “im just a smol bean” from electeds. They *wanted* this job, and that job is to actively further our interests

I used to get a number of these when I was an academic, and that was pre-chatbot. I can only presume it's so much worse now.
(Although in 2021 I got a series of increasingly unhinged ones that started as scientific theories and ended with conspiracy theories about Harris and I had to call the FBI)
I am by no means a prominent public intellectual, but my inbox is increasingly filled with messages from people who have been convinced by sycophantic chatbots that they have discovered revolutionary theories that entirely upend our scientific understanding of the universe.

Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) says someone showed up to her D.C. office today and made white supremacist threats. Capitol Police had to intervene.

This was hours after Trump said Democrats in Congress should be executed.

I know what you're thinking, and YES, this means I'll finally be able to make a complete count of all the Jeopardy! contestants who list this fact in their bio!
Bluesky users include about 50 Jeopardy! champions who put that info in their bio! And 10 who use a photo with the host as their profile pic

🔹 If you do go to the CDC website, stay clear of anything on vaccines, reproductive health, environmental science or health equity
🔹 Data systems are still largely protected by CDC scientists. Flu and wastewater data, for example, are good to go

What do you do?
🔹 At this time, I suggest to largely stay away from the CDC website
🔹 This is the time to find trustworthy navigators outside of the federal government, like AAP, ACOG, or healthychildren.org, and many credible scientific communicators

Impeach the motherfucker
There is one and only position that makes any sense if you really take it seriously: say openly and unapologetically that he must be removed from office. Not just call on people to condemn it, not just fret about norms. He is literally trying to kill you. Act like it.

This is completely disgusting. Today, the CDC updated their vaccine safety page. It now says:

“The claim "vaccines do not cause autism" is not an evidence-based claim because studies have not ruled out the possibility that infant vaccines cause autism”.

the nuzzi story is fun and all but at the center of it is the elevation of a man who has dedicated his life to making children catch preventable diseases to a position where he can enact harm at enormous scale

So to sum up the message from these members of Congress:

“We can’t be bothered to exercise our constitutional power to remove the president to protect our military and intelligence personnel from illegal orders, so we will just ask those same patriots to resist on our behalf.”

Inspiring!
We want to speak directly to members of the Military and the Intelligence Community.

The American people need you to stand up for our laws and our Constitution.

Don’t give up the ship.

21 fucking Obgyns were involved in her care. She was hospitalized three times before 9 weeks. This was murder, pure and simple - a conspiracy to just try to keep her body operating long enough to get her to viability.
NEW:

In 2024, Tierra Walker was sick and getting sicker. She was also pregnant.

She knew abortion was illegal in Texas, but thought there was an exception for women like her, whose health was at risk. Doctors told her there was no emergency.

Then she died.

one thing about this is that in the wake of all of this kirk is basically forgotten. he was barely cold in the ground before his allies — before his *wife* — started scheming over what they could take for themselves. a real life parable.
New: Reuters has tallied job losses, suspensions and investigations stemming from the reaction to Charlie Kirk's Sept. 10 assassination. Its findings: More than 600 Americans have been punished, and the figure is likely to be an under-count.
