I used to have a long thread of mostly panoramic photos of mostly Glasgow at the top of my twitter account.

Got as far as ‘charcuterie’ and ‘curated’ on the pretentious wank bingo board before I could read no more.

So: where's all the wealth?

Much of it is accumulating just outside the narrow borders of the city, in places like Bearsden or Giffnock.

So far so good, at least from the perspective of a Glaswegian. But are Glasgow residents feeling the benefit?

No. Glasgow is the centre of the Scottish economy,. But much of the city is substantially worse off than the Scottish average in terms of actual income.

1. If Trump runs out of immigrants to persecute, I suspect the next target for his performative sadism will be people with disabilities. Already, without a shred of evidence, he has blamed the air crash on disabled air traffic controllers, with horrible, stereotyping slurs about their disabilities.🧵

1. In this thread, I try to imagine the best and worst scenarios arising from Trump’s presidency. I make no claims about probability. I’m not trying to forecast results, just to imagine them. We know it will be terrible, whatever happens. The key question is how (or whether) it ends. 🧵
