For a brief break from the world, please enjoy a tale of two slugs.

#MarineLife #inverts 🧪🦑🐙

Nudibranch Jorunna pantherina (I think!) and not-nudibranch Elysia coodgeensis in a tidepool, about 1cm and 5mm long respectively. And with a few bonus microscopic epifauna video-bombing.

Many people are going to feel the need to defend trans care for adults using the libraries of published evidence supporting its safety and efficacy--which is fine, but the actual standard to uphold is "it's my body and I fucking said so"

I post a lot of nudis and crabs, but my favourites will always be cephalopods. Was lucky enough to hang out with this little lump of wonderfulness at the weekend, a small and perfect reaper cuttle 🥲

I bought this tomato as a seedling 🌱 in October and now it's a monster 😅 it still hasn't produced any ripe tomatoes, it just keeps growing!!! Any hints on how to convince it to stop taking over the garden and give me some tasty snacks?

Bugs Among Us - In Leaf Litter

Garden symphylans (Scutigerella immaculata) are common animals that live worldwide.

Despite this, they're smol, scuttly, and like to hide in moist soil, so most people don't even know these critters exist under their plants. 🎨 🐡

Regular nudi drop. These little beans are so abundant and thriving in my favourite snorking spot I take a ridiculous amount of photos of them. Dorisprismatica, aka black-margined nudibranch, or as we prefer to call them, tuxedo formalwear penguin cheesecake bb.

My pink feather boa millipede for #InsertAnInvert2024 has a home! The log itself is based off a manzanita, the leaves are from an Engelmann oak, and there is also a slime mold, a fungus, and lichen on the log.

Bugs Among Us - At Home

Firebrats (Thermobia domestica) are wingless insects related to silverfish that often find shelter in our warm homes.

Though harmless, like any friend that shows up uninvited, they might eat food that isn't theirs & leave behind unwanted "gifts". 🎨 🐡
