Yes, this is gender-affirming care, but what strikes me is how deeply rooted their body and gender dysmorphia is…
Decades of the white nationalist movement evolving to adapt to current political trends has brought them to this moment.

You know you’re the bad guy when you are anti-Doctors Without Borders.
Israel says it will suspend several humanitarian groups, including Doctors Without Borders, in 2026 for failing its new vetting rules for groups working in Gaza. Some international organizations have said that Israel’s rules are arbitrary and could endanger staff.

This memoir probably hit me the hardest this year. It is a beautiful mediation on grief, loss of not only a loved one but of self. Not only did I feel the loss of my father but the love for birds and the effect they have on us was just perfection.

I think many people don't realise this: we very often have to pause or delay cancer treatment when patients have COVID. Protecting yourself, loved ones and the community from COVID makes sense.
My beautiful friend, a nurse, died at 31 last night. Her cancer treatment was delayed because a visitor did not wear a mask and she became terribly ill for weeks with the flu or COVID and following infections. If you're wearing a mask, thank you.
Wrote about how disappointing it is that Jon Stewart punched down on people masking at @motherjones.com, when people should mind their own business and leave mask wearers be. www.motherjones.com/politics/202...

I feel like prior to the pandemic it was much more common for healthcare workers in cancer wards to mask, but my exposure to that world was more limited then and i have no data to back that up.

Lyme is one of many health problems caused & exacerbated by manmade climate change. A legitimate health secretary would acknowledge that.

We actually had a pretty good Lyme vaccine but antivaxxers lied & said it gave people knee pain (it didn’t but knee pain?) & got manufacturer to pull it in 2002.
You know what, shitbird? I have an idea. What about a VACCINE?

There are several in late stages of development.

Will you promote them so we can get “children back into the woods” as you say?

Nothing infuriates me faster than eugenicists invoking evolution to further a bigoted agenda. What even is the point if we don't start with the assumption that all people are equally precious?

Also science education without philosophy is dangerous.
Dr. Mark Peifer (@peiferlabunc.bsky.social)argues that understanding the history of eugenics is critical for up-and-coming geneticists and should be included in college curriculums. www.cell.com/news-do/pr-e...

Legal protection appears similar to protections given to plants & animals listed on the US Endangered Species Act

It’s the private equity, stupid.
Immigrants are not the reason there’s a housing crisis.

They’re not the reason ERs are full and people don’t have healthcare.

They’re not the reason food is so expensive.

They’re the scapegoat.

As long as you blame immigrants, you won’t realize the 1% are taking everything.

But like, what if it happens *as the ball is dropping* on New Year’s Eve? Do they continue the broadcast with every single on-air talent absolutely bombed out on apathy while an empire collapses? Do they cut to Stephen Miller in a concrete bunker screaming racial slurs? Does the West Coast explode?

Reminder that years ago it was found out that the FBI straight up made up a whole bunch of fake forensic sciences, plural. People have gone to jail and been executed due to literally pseudoscience.

Hair forensics, for instance, is totally nonsense.

They admitted it.
