Turning off replies because I'm not interested in debate.
I'm right.
Also, don't tell me that the state cops protect us from ICE when I was personally brutalized by ICE in the presence of a mob of state cops. Police do not protect protesters. That's simply not how they exist in relation to us.

I realize that it's part of the governor's strategy to keep the National Guard at bay, but facilitating a violent, occupying force to keep another arm of the occupation at bay is not the only strategy, and it's one worthy of critique. Also, all state charges against protesters should be dropped NOW.

So saying "we did it because of content, not identity" -- sure, but the content doesn't seem to be a problem to any website that values free communication?

I cannot imagine teaching an introductory Indigenous Studies class at IU, let alone some of the more upper-division courses that I teach within Indigenous studies/Indigenous geographies/Geography.
I could get reported for speaking on the very real genocide my people have faced.
Pure insanity.

I’m glad I’m not in academia anymore—there’s just no way I could do any of my teaching and research in this climate.

anyway, refusing to back down on the shutdown and loudly saying it was to protect ACA subsidies wouldve done more to educate voters about what side youre on than the pie crust promise of a bipartisan commission in a few months
