There is a moment at this time of year when the word ‘apricity’ really comes into view. For those who don’t know it, it was recorded only once, in 1623, before slipping out of view. Apricity is the warmth of the sun on a chilly day.

That'll be the demograph both trying to care for elderly parents with no social care, and support adult children who still can't afford their own houses, or to have children. They're seeing the impact of everything.
Coming back to this, it's striking when we talk about the most disillusioned in society the image is usually Gen Z man or a retired man. But (albeit from a high baseline) the person most likely to say things in the UK today are getting worse is a woman in her late 50s/early 60s.

one of the (few!) things that make me miss living in continental Europe is that over there you don't really do Dinner Parties, but you can absolutely often text friends going "cba going out but I'll make pasta if you turn up in an hour, btw I'm in my pyjamas, also bring wine"
