So in spring, Pam Bondi said there was nothing to the Epstein investigation, then “closed” it. Now, they “find” 1 million more docs.

So did she close this without seeing these docs? Or was someone hiding them?

The Washpost edit board calls Trump’s bombing in Nigeria “a welcome change in a part of the world that has always been little more than an afterthought for the president” — and has zero mention of the thousands in Africa facing starvation because of USAID cuts

"Comments" in this context means giving the people involved in a news story the chance to respond before publication.

Increase in productivity since 1979: 87%

Increase in hourly pay since 1979: 32%

Just so happens that ~25% of workers were unionized in 1979. Today? 10%.

As unions declined, the super-rich have taken a larger share of wealth generated by labor. We must build back union power.

That Trump has gotten away so far tells you how corrupt our society is. He would have to pay off law enforcement, the judiciary, politicians, bankers, the press … and who knows who else.

Billionaires threatening to leave if they are taxed is really just code for threatening to primary politicians. But saying that would give up the game a little too explicitly.

Casual reminder that the myth of “pulling yourself up by your bootstraps” is a cruel hoax designed to convince poor people from all walks of life that the injustices they face are a result of their own actions, rather than an oppressive system rigged against them.

I don't discuss Palestine or Palestinians, with Germans. I ain't interested in debating the humanity of Palestinians with Germans. Now, if there are Germans who see israel as the white setter colonial apartheid ethnostate that it is, then good for them. But I ain't discussing shit with Germans.

I'm voting for the first Democratic candidate who:

1. Promises to bulldoze Trump's golden ballroom.

2. Vows to put Ghislaine Maxwell in a real prison.

3. Guarantees a criminal investigation into every member of the Trump cabinet.

fuck the NYT
A great example of how the @nytimes.com centers white Americans and Trump supporters in its anecdotal political coverage. You never see stories like this about Black Democrats whose cities are cracked in Republican gerrymandering to give them Republican elected officials.
They Wanted a Conservative State. They Might Get a Democratic Representative Instead.

The passage of Proposition 50, which redrew California’s congressional map, means that all of the state’s conservative north is likely to be represented by Democrats.
