I'm very pleased to be booked in for my hernia op next week, but the upshot is that my Etsy shop will then be closed for about a week. So, if you had your eye on a Christmas present for a bug enthusiast, this week is the best time to place an order. www.etsy.com/uk/shop/Mart...

Back to France (I wish!!), I was really pleased to see one of my favourite treehoppers, Stictocephala bisonia! Alas, I only got this shot before it pinged off into the oblivion, and I didn't manage to find another...! #Membracidae #Hemiptera #Treehopper #France

Loving invertebrates + owning a log burner is a risky combo 🔥🕷️

I always check logs for stowaways, and tonight I rescued a beautifully camouflaged flatbug Aradus depressus from the fire 👀

It’ll be released onto dead wood in the garden to overwinter 🤞

Not sure exactly what's happened up by the Heathgates/Morrisons in #Shrewsbury, but the police have cordoned off the road between the roundabout and the entrance to Morrisons. No pedestrian or vehicular access.

Someone is "very not well" apparently, but unclear if it's an accident at this point.
