I do not want to “Do my own research.” I want to pay trained accredited experts to do the research, trained accredited experts to report on findings, and trained accredited experts to make policy based on them.

I am busy af with my own job, I don’t need to do eight zillion more.

Looking through the old Colorado State College yearbooks for the first evidence of superheroes, I found a photograph from a 1941 dance. It looks like one of the students is wearing a costume combing elements from the costumes of both Superman and Shazam.

Looks like drinking with skeletons went poorly. Not sure what was said to start the fight, but it looks intense.

In the spirit of Dr. Parcak's post, it is the RADICAL LEFT DEMOCRATS who are making you use a colon instead of a comma in front of the page numbers when citing a journal using the Chicago Manual of Style. My students do want SOMEONE to blame for the CMOS.

just finished the Buffalo Hunter Hunter by Stephen Graham Jones. It was brutal, horrific, and amazing.

There was even an archivist character. Always happy to see my people represented in horror fiction. (We are the keepers of secrets and mysteries.)

People living under fascism didn’t survive by giving up joy—they protected it.

They held onto the things fascism tried to erase: art, friendship, jokes, rituals, language, memory.

Not as escapism but as resistance. As proof they were still human.

Joy isn’t frivolous under fascism. It’s strategic.

They could have stood by their journalist and the first amendment.

But no.

Enough of this crap.

I made a sweet $7.07 during the last six months from royalties on a book that I did with Arcadia press over ten years ago. I am not sure where I am going to invest this windfall. Maybe a sandwich.

Just saw a guy wearing a shirt that said "Size matters!" and it had a bunch of bullets with their dimensions printed all over it. I figure the guy must have gone to the store to buy a "I'm a moron" shirt, but they ran out, so he got the next best thing.

Eugenics or eliminating racialized, disabled, and marginalized folks for the perceived betterment of white society is organized around the healthy hetero patriarchal nuclear family. Historically, eugenics has targeted disabled and other nonconforming women justified by Christian ideals.
I think it’s fascinating how this administration’s guiding principle on every single policy is just “be evil.”
