Every bomb dropped, every child killed, bears the stain of British complicity.

This genocide is made possible by the UK, US, and EU — arming, funding and shielding Israel as it massacres with impunity.

How do those responsible sleep at night?

I don't think Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood are necessarily being actively malevolent over Palestine but it's a distinct possibility that, in holding a 'can't we all just get along?' position seemingly oblivious to the inherent power imbalance, they're dumber than anyone previously considered

Reform’s devastating electoral success in places like County Durham this week shows that British politics is approaching a tipping point – will Labour respond with watered-down jingoism, or rediscover its soul?

for all the many and various arguments I could go long on against the Lime bike, the one most clearly evident to literally anyone in London with eyes is that when you ride one you look so so lame.

Labour's new policy - of humiliating trans people by requiring them constantly to self-identify - we believe puts the UK (again) in breach of its obligations under the European Convention on Human Rights and will seek a declaration of incompatability. goodlaw.social/0r6l

Or better still, add ‘-AI’ to your search terms to stop them altogether
This is really important. Do NOT use the AI summaries at the top of google searches. Ignore them. This is especially important if you don't have any prior knowledge about the topic, but also a good general rule.

Search sources, scrutinize them carefully and double-check with other sources.
Google’s AI Overviews will not only confirm that a gibberish idiom is a real saying, it will also tell you what it means and how it was derived -- often including reference links.

The idea that trans women should use men’s toilets, and trans men should use women’s toilets, is completely absurd and unworkable.

Research has shown that half of trans people fear using toilets as it is.

All of this will simply help drive trans people out of society.

Bridget Phillipson’s comments come after a long-awaited Supreme Court ruling last week that trans women are not legally women under the 2010 Equality Act

We lost the only true moral leader on the world stage.

It's immense.

But Pope Francis led by listening to the grassroots, lifting up the people's demands.

He put "ecological debt" in the climate encyclical, a concept that emerged in Ecuador's oil-poisoned jungle.

Millions of leaders remain.

regardless of today’s outcome, it is morally indefensible to have a court ruling on something that affects a population, using evidence and findings that did not consult a single member of that population.

every single person who supports this is an enemy of feminism & those who wrap their bigotry in fake concerns about “women & girls” deserve no sympathy & no mercy for doing so

Very few people would physically rob a disabled person, but put a few hundred of you careerist scumbags into a fancy palace in London and you're fleecing them immediately. Curious!
Very few people would scream at people in the street the way they scream at people on social media.

It really does bring out the very worst of people.

My in person coffee mornings are civilised and where people can disagree agreeably.

I wish people could be more like that on social media.

That is what our government is enabling — and it should be eternally ashamed.

only occurred to me today to join the library and borrow it instead.

feels particularly late capitalist to contemplate theft before assuming you can access a free public service.

The only way to stop people being forced into the hands of people smugglers is to introduce safe routes for people to seek safety in the UK. Starmer knows this - but instead of making this lifesaving change, he's choosing to dance to Nigel Farage's tune. Shameful.
