Thank you Derbyshire LGBT+ for creating the safe space for the trans community to come together and speak freely at a time when they are feeling scared as hostility is targeted at them for just living their lives.

A woman is killed by a man every 3 days in the UK...

78% are murdered by a partner/ex

Yet not once have I heard Reform talk about this

Not once have I heard them back measures to protect women’s safety

In fact, they voted against them...

Thinking of all the parents and families who have suffered the painful loss of a baby.

Lighting a candle in memory of all the babies who lit up their lives for such a short time. 🕯️

We have published a report, Equality at work: paternity and shared parental leave.

On the welfare reform and the ‘reasoned amendment’ aka the wrecking amendment (that isn’t an amendment).

I’ve written a statement on the current situation on the reasoned amendment on welfare reforms AKA a ‘wrecking amendment’.

The battle continues, and I continue to lobby government to rethink PIP.

Please do read my statement.

80 years ago today Victory in Europe and over the Nazis was announced.

Thank you to brave servicemen and women who fought for us.

We must remember that what tears us apart is in division and hatred for humankind, what makes us great is in unity and togetherness and in being kind to one another.

It’s not every day you have a meeting with a member of ABBA…!

Pleased to continue to show my support for transparency measures in the Data (Use and Access) Bill to help ensure tech firms outputs, especially when it comes to AI can be governed by copyright laws.

The passing of His Holiness, Pope Fancis is deeply sad for Catholics in South Derbyshire and for millions of Catholics around the world.

Even those who did not share his faith but respected his global leadership will feel his loss.

Pope Francis gave hope to so many.

May he rest in peace. 🕯️

“The result is that today’s internet seems to, if not make us actually crazy, make many of us seem crazy. Always connected, always posting and consuming, we resemble madmen now, giving voice to thoughts that are normally the province of the eccentric ranting on a street corner”
For the FT, I wrote an essay about why the daily experience of the Internet keeps getting worse, tipping us into madness and conflict. I gather ideas about slop, enshittification, and dead internet theory under what I call "the hostile Internet."

Welcome to slop world: how the hostile internet is driving us crazy
The last bits of fellowship and ingenuity on the web are being swept away by a tide of so-called artificial intelligence
