NYPD mistook this bike for an electric Citi Bike, told the media and public, then chased its own bad info to the Upper East Side. Per NYT, this afternoon cops "gathered at a Citi Bike kiosk on Madison Ave and 82nd... asking doormen... for video footage that may have captured the bike rack."
