As someone looking for a job, this is horrific
This should be illegal.
Ghost jobs are a real danger for people living paycheck to paycheck. Someone teetering on the edge of poverty may spend precious hours, transportation money, and emotional energy applying to positions that don’t exist or are already filled.

This is such a fucking shame.

So many people worked so hard to make NaNoWriMo what it was, and it was all squandered to prop up a plagiarism machine, truly betraying everything NaNo represented: the limitless creativity of normal people.
Less than a year after a full-throated embrace of AI, NaNoWriMo is shutting down :

I'm sorry but this is approximately the funniest and stupidest thing I've ever read. Guy writes sequel to Lord of the Rings, publishes it on Amazon, then SUES AMAZON AND THE TOLKIEN ESTATE, claiming that the Rings of Power series was infringing on his copyright.

I read this book last year, and it's a really good read!
ooo The Mermaid, The Witch and the Sea is currently $.99 in eBook.

If you like a lil queer swoons, a lil anti-colonialism, and of course, a lil magic, then this is the book for you.

Here's what @charliejane.bsky.social had to say about it:
