This seems like a good time to point out that Carney argued already at Jackson Hole in 2019 that long term, there had to be an alternative to the dollar www.ft.com/content/f661...

Still nowhere near Trump’s 34 convictions.

"'You know, I am in support of abolishing ICE.'

That comment drew a big applause from the crowd and forced the mayor to pause for a moment."

It is not normal for a president to be pushing for a net -80 policy. That Trump apparently does not care about the public opinion on Greenland (or maybe he doesn't know about the polls) is a sign of how far we have drifted from normal democratic government

Good. Let's hear more European leaders admonishing our do-nothing Congress!
Danish Parliament Deputy Speaker Lars-Christian Brask:

"If I could come with some advice, it would be for the Senate & House to start to take control of political power in America because with this erratic & mad behaviour, you have to ask the question, is the President capable of running the US?"

Just to be clear: the President is single-handedly dragging America to economic crisis and war with our closest allies.

And why? To conquer an overseas territory that we have no claim to, have never had a claim to, and already have military bases on.

Oh, and because he didn’t get a prize.

Yet another example of the idiocy of the Supreme Court’s immunity opinion: If Trump invades Greenland, even for the most insane reason (like not winning the Nobel Peace Prize) and against our obvious national interest, it’s an “official act” that can never be held legally accountable

Correct.
Fukuyama: Trump is a bully who wants to dominate everyone around him. Trying to placate him with concessions is a fool’s errand. He despises weakness.

As an American, I say to my European friends: do not back down. Appeasing Trump with flattery has failed and must stop.

Because Europe won't give Trump Greenland, he is threatening to hit us with a huge tax increase cepr.net/publications... The tariffs are a tax on us, not Europe. Trump's dementia prevents him from understanding that fact.
Trump Wants to Hit Us with a Huge Tax Hike for His Demented Greenland Dreams
Trump’s push to seize Greenland relies on tariffs that function as a $75 billion tax on Americans, not a national security strategy.

Trump text to Norway’s PM:

“Considering your Country decided not to give me the Nobel Peace Prize for having stopped 8 Wars PLUS, I no longer feel an obligation to think purely of Peace.”
Why is Trump trying to take over Greenland? He tells Norway's prime minister that one reason is his grievance over not winning the Nobel Peace Prize. www.nytimes.com/2026/01/19/w...

His name is Jonathan Ross. His name must be known. And all U.S. law officers who use lethal force against fellow citizens -- whether seemingly justified or unjustified i early analysis -- must have their names immediately known. How else for us to know whether they've killed one person or ten?
you heard her — put his name on marquees. put it on t-shirts. do drone shows with his name in the middle while the other drones do the macarena around it. light it up.
BRENNAN: Tell me about the officer, Jonathan Ross

KRISTI NOEM: Don't say his name! I mean, for heaven's sake, we shouldn't have people continue to dox law enforcement

BRENNAN: His name is public

NOEM: I know, but that doesn't mean it should continue to be said

I am happy to describe MAGA as "right-wing"

I have a hard time describing them as "conservative."
One of the many differences between Trumpism and past mainstream conservative movements and even far-right movements is that Trumpists make minimal to no attempt to claim and use traditional American symbols, aesthetics, and texts. Mostly, it's straight-up monarchical and Nazi messages.

glad they're on this. i've noticed this and you probably have too. shattering drivers side car windows appears to be a top and preferred tactic for ICE. even when nothing is happening that makes it necessary or even on the most generous interpretation warranted. it's terror tactic.

CNN: A majority of the country, 58% say President Trump's first year has been a failure. That includes two thirds of independent voters. Now, why is that? Across the board, Americans disapprove of how the president is handling every major issue.
