Classic.
Pesky e-bike riders delivering food to people should be ticketed... @tps.ca there appears to be a double standard here because stopping in for some Jerk King, although delicious is not actively responding to an emergency.

The use of the lights here, while clever, is certainly inappropriate.

“For institutions tied to the Emirates, choosing to act” or speak out about the genocide in Sudan “would have an economic cost,” write three experts in global human rights. “Yet the cost of silence, of continuing business as usual, is infinitely greater.”

This weekend I wrote about Doug Ford’s plan to sell off a large chunk of Wasaga Beach Provincial Park. Exactly the opposite of what should be happening: parkland expansion.
Shawn Micallef: Doug Ford’s plan to sell off chunks of this popular beach threatens something we should hold dear
If Doug Ford wanted to create a real legacy, he’d start an aggressive expansion of public parkland in Ontario to keep up with its massive population.

“If your tactics disrupt the order of things under capitalism, you may well be accused of violence, because ‘violence’ is an elastic term often deployed to vilify people who threaten the status quo. Conditions that the state characterizes as ‘peaceful’ are, in reality, quite violent.”

You may not have heard about the concept of remigration and Trump’s affinity for it and there’s a reason why:
Pathetic: ABC’s GMA, World News Tonight, This Week, CBS’ Mornings, Evening News, Face the Nation, NBC’s Today, Nightly News, Meet the Press, MSNBC, The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Los Angeles Times, and The Wall Street Journal all failed to cover Trump's new office for ethnic cleansing.

Wow. Incredibly disappointed to learn that @adamvaughanto.bsky.social has been hired by Therme to try to convince people that the giant glass environmentally disastrous private spa on public land at #OntarioPlace is a good idea.

Offloading process tasks to AI won't solve the problem and pressure of the neoliberal academy reducing of our work to productivity and impact metrics. It does not "free up time" for the "real" work. It is a continuation of the undervaluing of our work, our time, our relationships, our humanity.
a lot of the talk about AI in the humanities seems to leave out the notion of pleasure in having ideas which is a real shame
