It perfectly recreates the experience of wandering the aisles of a mom and pop video store on a Friday night with nothing particular in mind.
Tubi is such a crazy streaming service. It’s like if the Criterion Closet was in a gas station

He prefers three dolls because if the second one is ugly he’s still got an opportunity to cheat on the first one.
Trump: "You can give up certain products. You could give up pencils. Because under the China policy, every child can get 37 pencils. They only need 1 or 2. They don't need that many. You always need steel. You don't need 37 dolls for your daughter. 2 or 3 is nice. So we're doing things right."

It always gets on my nerves when people say the “Old Testament” is so violent and disturbing, compared to the supposedly much more peaceful and loving “New Testament.”

I think we have to look at them as different genres. One is a warts-and-all family memoir, while the other is more like self-help.

NEW VIDEO: Big business is a death cult worshipping a many-faced Techno God. In an industry full of takers who want to eradicate the makers, so-called AI promises a nonsensical fantasy where games are made for free and sold to a world of laid off former workers. It is unhinged.

Tom Stoppard is one of the greats. I can lay claim to being part of what is a smallish club--"Actors Who Have Played Every Stoppard Character Named Max" (all two of them; in THE REAL THING and ROCK 'N' ROLL)--but I'd gladly give that status up if he'd have stuck around to write many more Maxes.

Good morning! I took the opportunity of the BEATLES ANTHOLOGY's streaming debut to write about THE COMPLEAT BEATLES, the (imho) far superior Fab Four doc, and why, because of the ANTHOLOGY, it's so hard to see.

Little else boils my piss more than people playing the class card to justify using AI.

I grew up dirt fucking poor and my parents instilled in me from the day I was born that if you love something or someone, you 👏 have 👏 to 👏 put 👏 in 👏 the 👏 work 👏 because 👏 nothing 👏 worthwhile 👏 comes 👏 easy 👏
All AI music does is devalue the work done by human artists. It’s not accessibility, it’s exploitation. We need real protections for artists against AI!

BTW — even if you had access to this AI startup as a child, you still wouldn’t know how to make music.

Just saw someone claim that authors who want to be paid for their work are "class traitors" because we "only let the wealthy" read our books, and I think I need to go into the woods to scream into the night for a bit.

It's $5, not your first-born child! I need that $5 for health insurance!

Whenever people say that movies don't have that much influence I like to think about how one character's quotable wine preferences single-handedly cratered the merlot market and basically created the pinot boom of the west coast / PNW.
