Update - the actual text of the EO seems to indicate that the “This mechanism shall include the use of private sector pro-bono assistance for such law enforcement officers” refers to legal representation (aka the private firms he strong armed) and will likely be used to protect bad cops.

This should be discussed all the time in those pundit panels. Anyone arguing against this would look pretty foolish.
I think the best way of going about universal basic income is as one set and indexed to 25% of GDP per capita so that everyone benefits equally from all productivity growth, and I think the framing that @petebuttigieg.bsky.social uses here is the correct framing. I'm happy to see this argument made.
