Inclusivity means ALL. You cannot tout a reputation built on inclusivity when you decide disabled aren't included. Your reversal of your mask mandate could kill people. This is not a good look and it is NOT inclusive. Do Better. Now.

If you can't support your disabled attendees, how long before you cave to Trump and remove support for the trans community? Or the queer community as a whole? What else are you willing to compromise for $?

I find it interesting that autism is used to excuse away anything rich white men do, while my autism means that literally everything I do is wrong and bad.

*Looking for volunteers!* I along with the help of a few others are building a Mask Recommender Based on Facial Features. TLDR: Goal: scan a face with a phone to get accurate facial measurements, and get a list of masks that have high probability of fitting that individual's face.

I designed a pattern/instruction sheet for making a felt aura cover. Super breathable, no fraying, full coverage, and easy to make from a pretty standard sized piece of felt - there's a bunch of 8x12, 9x12, letter, A4, etc. sized felt both online and at craft stores.

Wikipedia is the last vestige of “good internet” a place where millions do thankless work for free because they believe in the vision of open knowledge for all.

No wonder tech bros hate it, it’s anathema to their entire existence
Regular reminder that Musk is really dumb.

To all colleges & universities canceling their graduation ceremonies due to falling for fear mongering from Zionist donors:

DO YOU REALIZE THAT THE UNDERGRADUATE CLASS OF 2024 IS ALSO THE CLASS WHO HAD THEIR HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION CANCELLED DUE TO A PANDEMIC?!

So go ahead.
See how that plays out

Oh, and PSA:

YOU NEVER HAVE TO FORGIVE YOUR ABUSER.

ever.

And you don’t need to forgive in order to heal.

They’re not the same thing.

(Yes, you can forgive if that’s Correct for you. But you don’t have to, and nobody else traumatized does either.)

I really want to stay focused on NPR's decision to run the piece and the precedent it sets rather than attacking the writer but...wow...I mean. Wow.
Rest assured that you will probably never give a worse birthday gift than writing an article in a major media outlet describing in detail how the birthday boy's health complications have ruined your enjoyment of life and he should probably just die.
update on the lady who wrote that NPR article whining about how her husband doesn't want to get covid: today is her husband's BIRTHDAY. SHE PUBLISHED THAT ON HIS BIRTHDAY.

I've spent much of today testing various paint types on various elastomeric respirators, to determine the best ways to decorate them. Everything's a little all over the place, but so far, oil paint pens seem the best overall. Specific details in my Respirator Repository tinyurl.com/PDXMaskLibrary

Made a new n95 mask cover! It needs a tiny bit of tweaking, but unlike the previous version, this one requires no extra hardware to assemble after 3D printing it flat. Pictured on a Lighthouse N95, fits auras too, and it's adjustable!

Nex Benedict could have become famous for their art. Or their activism. They could have been known for starting a business that made people's lives better somehow.

Now their name will only be known because of what hateful people did to them. It's monstrously unfair.
