A clear pattern @UKHomeOffice: instead of tackling complex issues intelligently, the HS of Asian origin will pivot to appeasing the far right.

Why? Maybe the a heady yet toxic mix of ambition, vanity, and the need for acceptance, bought at the cost of principle and morals proves too intoxicating..

Removing Article 50 would miss the point. The EU isn’t a cage, it’s a voluntary union built on shared consent. The goal isn’t to make leaving impossible, it’s to make belonging so valuable and functional that no member state ever wants to go.

One of the things that has shocked me most in Brexit, but is little appreciated in the U.K., is how many people in the EU, have concluded that not only does the EU function perfectly well without the U.K., but that it actually works better without them. Even writing it still gives me a nasty jolt.

Support for Reform UK among British Indians is rising. Not surprising Hindu<>Muslim and Sikh<>Muslim tensions predate Britain’s presence in South Asia. Reform’s anti-immigration rhetoric offers a modern political outlet for old communal grievances.

It’s like parents indulging a spoilt child, who’s so badly behaved they can’t be let out in public - staying in a fairy tale castle; riding around in a golden carriage; lots of dressing up; toy soldiers; courtiers bowing and scraping; parades and banquets. Nauseating and excruciating. #statevisit
The pumpkin that got to go to the ball. “None of this is Disneyland,” says @skynewsrss.bsky.social, as Trump is given a ride in a gilded carriage around the grounds of Windsor Castle at vast expense without any members of the public allowed near. Surreal and ridiculous. #statevisit #StopTrump

I need you to understand what this country feels like right now for those of us who look different. I'm sitting here, trying to plan for Saturday, make sure I don't even need to go to the corner shop for milk, like it's Christmas Day or lockdown. Why? Because I live near where Yaxley-Lennon will 1/

I hesitate to right this, but these are in response to my post that Europe is not responsible for negotiation delays, and it is best to correct the message.

Mr Draghi is right, Europe must move quicker on existential issues. We have been too passive in the face of internal+external threats

An insightful and well observed piece by @orynski.eu - a refreshing call-to-realism for wannabe British joiners noting the UK’s path back to Europe must recognise that it’s not all about them. A timely and nuanced reflection.

Rejoiners have to accept that it’s not all about us!
“Britain does not consider itself to be an equal – and the EU is the union of equals”, says Tomasz Orynski. Does the UK get it yet?

It is very nearly the tenth anniversary of that brief moment when, for 2 or 3 days, British newspapers remembered refugees are desperate human beings who need our help, rather than scum that it's okay to threaten with violence.

The EU needs to shape its own future.

The US might still be able to impose themselves into the framework for a while longer (though a clean break from the US might soon become necessary…with all the consequences stemming from such a decision), the UK has no such importance.

Former Tory MP Adam Holloway has defected to Reform. As someone who 'mistakenly' overclaimed £1,000 on expenses, defended an MP who sexually assaulted a 15 year old and tried to influence a judge over another MP charged with sexual assault, he should fit in perfectly.

1 in 3 of all NHS Doctors, &
