Minor updates to this timelapse: inset map showing Severny/Pankovo areas & adjusted timing to slow it down around the one confirmed test date on 21 October, plus the note at the end as Yauza departed Severny yesterday.

(Of course I kept tinkering around with it...)
15 minutes of glorious noise ❤️

Fwiw without more detail, I'd be inclined to think the jamming of 5583kHz was possibly unintentional - reckless, sure.

The Russian military extensively utilises HF and sometimes they even unintentionally step on their own frequencies e.g. with 29B6 radar transmitting on an active comms channel.

Turkey has issued a number of NOTAMs for the Black Sea covering 23, 25, 26 November and 02 December, all are surface to unlimited & run between the hours of 2100 & 2259.

Officially described as "GUN FIRING" I think these may relate to planned missile tests from the launch complex at 41.93N 28.04E.

Ireland gave Ukraine 5 of its 7 air defense radars – depleting most of its own early warning capability. The Giraffe Mark IV systems detect low-flying targets at 50km, part of $76 mn in military aid from a country with minimal defense inventory

In the midst of all of Yantar related conversation - it's interesting to note that an Irish Air Corps C295 - the transport (#286) rather than maritime patrol variant, flew to RAF Lossiemouth today. Home of the RAF P-8 fleet.

It wasn't a quick stop either.

Lasers, that's.... provocative.

Wonder if it's operating drones again, as reported in the Irish Times by @conorgallagher.bsky.social last year:

RFA Proteus working away in the Irish Sea again today.

Around this time last year, RFA Proteus was shadowing Yantar while it lingered over cables and vitally important gas interconnectors in the Irish Sea, in some not so subtle signalling.

(To be clear, I don't know where Yantar is right now...)

Interesting recent episodes of @restisclassified.bsky.social podcast on Crypto AG.

I remember being amazed that Crypto AG was still in business in the 2000's as there appeared to be open & widely reported suspicion of them since at least the 1980s.

Teriberka (& Sabetta) have departed Pankovo/Gribovaya Bay, possibly for the final time this year - first visit was early June.

Fwiw, it appears the last obvious instance of RF interference from Pankovo on Sentinel 1 SAR, was on the day of the test - October 21st.
