We might as well cut out the media middlemen and get AI to generate our listicles ourselves. Why see ads?

New startup idea: LinkedOut. A site where you track the assholes you absolutely don't want to work with, ever again. Alerts you when any HR from those companies pings you.

Depending how much you hate them, you can assign them a 1st, 2nd, 3rd level distance to keep.

I'm old enough to remember when Frey made up whole swaths of his "memoir." Frey has always seemed like a grifter, and him using AI to write passages in his new novel isn't surprising when you know his past grifts like this YA one. Rich white men get chance after chance after chance, don't they. 😒
I mean, as far as I can tell this has been Frey's game for a long time.

Here's what's *really* going to happen:

All the technical parts of the creative process - computer animation gruntwork, sound leveling, copying around and formatting the screenplay, splicing together multiple takes, ykwim - are going to be replaced by AI. Letting creatives do it all by themselves.
The level of hatred these AI bros have for creative people I just do not understand

A multi-season Hindi adaptation of Richard Stark (aka Donald Westlake)'s Parker series, set in various cities in India, with the later seasons focused on the Mumbai underworld.

Man, that would rock.
Your absolute dream project gets greenlit with no strings or concessions. What is it?

Mine would be serving as the showrunner and producer on a 6 season TV series focusing on Mal Evans, the road manager for The Beatles.

(If you’re unfamiliar, his is a story that *really* deserves to be told).

Instead of the bland, "have a nice day," add some suspense by saying, "I hope you enjoy the next 24 hours."

Almost nobody wants you (or encourages you) to spend time with your friends. Your office doesn't like it, your family wants more of your time, your hobbies try to pull you away. But you absolutely need to prioritize them because they're the only ones you can be honest with.

Say it after me: Chat GPT is not a search engine. It does not scan the web for information, it just generates statistically likely sentences. You cannot use it a search engine, or as a substitute for searching.

Now. Please never use an LLM for information searches ever again.

I love when folks discover horror with a movie or a book. We’re over here like, “Oh, you loved Stephen Graham Jones? Sinners is your new favorite movie? You’re “getting into serial killer stories”? Come on in! Oh, we have such sights to show you. Whatever you’re into, we have it.
