Admins won’t save us. We need to save ourselves & our universities. 👇🏻
WE WON. I am *begging* you to take note of who did this. *Not* UCLA admin—they’re still scuttling around behind closed doors, attempting to appease—but FACULTY AND STAFF, led by AAUP.
BREAKING: In AAUP et al v. Trump (wall-to-wall union lawsuit challenging the administration’s unlawful use of TItle VI to reshape the University of California system), the faculty and staff of the UC system WON!!!

We were granted our preliminary injunction! @aaup.org

This sounds reasonable but is 100% wrong. Whether you or agree or disagree with a study is completely immaterial. What matters is whether the study was conducted properly and generates valid results. And it's impolitic to say but it's true: you have to have some level of expertise to judge that.
JD Vance: "Science as practiced in its best form is that if you disagree with it, then you ought to criticize it and you ought to argue against it."

Really lazy journalism for State House News service to say "Emerging House energy bill switches focus to affordability" when the House's bill actually guts energy efficiency programs that save people money and makes people pay a tax for new pipeline construction. It's Trumpian in its dishonesty.

Excellent coverage of local opposition to data centers across the country (especially the South).

Also, buy subscriptions to your local newspaper.

Data centers are not the frontline of innovation. They are the dirty structures that nobody - certainly tech leaders in Silicon Valley - wants to live next to.

I have concerns that even with Dems in charge, Virginia may continue to advance fossil fuels & fail to meet the legal obligations of the Virginia Clean Economy Act in large part because data center growth has boxed us in 1/2 virginiamercury.com/2025/11/07/e...

A short #election 🧵- Democrats had historic victories across the nation; in Virginia they dominated. The outcomes are a strong repudiation of Trump who is a polarizing & unpopular figure in the face of high inflation, democratic erosion & a government shutdown voters largely blame on Republicans 1/

As we today wonder if polls will be accurate, consider that, last year, state-level election polls had an average error (in any direction) of 3 points, the most accurate year since 1944. And they had an average pro-Democratic bias of 2.7 points.
The bottom line: Across all levels of elections, the average polling error in 2024 was 3.3 percentage points, down from 5.3 in 2020 and 5.2 in 2016. National presidential polls missed by 2.6 points on average, and state-level presidential polls by 3.0 on average.

Virginians get out the vote today! What happens in state govt. is incredibly consequential! Also, the attorney general is arguably the single most important state actor holding presidents accountable so don't skip that one. I'll be on WAVY & WUSA-DC tonight talking elections so tune in! #VAElections

This!! The federal government has contingency funds for EXACTLY this purpose and the Trump regime is intentionally keeping food from hungry people (many of which are children).
Rep. Rosa DeLauro: "On the food stamp issue, the money is there! Let them not get away with saying they can't do it. Their political will isn't there to feed the people who rely on the SNAP program which is the most effective anti-hunger program in the USA."
