It was such a pleasure hitting the trail with students (from my class-U.S. environmental policy, Bio Club, and CNU Center for Sustainability) + an amazing CNU alum who shared some great ecological information along the hike.

Well that's a wrap! I'm back on WUSA at 6:30am so time to get a tiny bit of sleep now 😴. The blue tsunami hit Virginia and it sure was an incredible night in Virginia politics!

Virginians get out the vote today! What happens in state govt. is incredibly consequential! Also, the attorney general is arguably the single most important state actor holding presidents accountable so don't skip that one. I'll be on WAVY & WUSA-DC tonight talking elections so tune in! #VAElections

I am so incredibly proud of our polling work at the Wason Center. We follow best practices in polling and are reliably close to election outcomes time and time again, which is why we earned that diamond next to our poll in the NYT. 1/

It is incredibly hard for me to understand why so many think we should not celebrate this holiday. Yes, many only became aware of it recently, but best believe that Black communities have been celebrating it for ages. It is about time the rest of us join in on the celebration. #Juneteenth

The Democratic primaries in Virginia are real nail biters so far! #VirginiaElections
June 18, 2025 at 12:50 AM
Fellow Virginians, it is primary Election Day! Please make your voices heard. Primaries are heavily overlooked ways of influencing the political parties. If you don't like how your party is representing itself in political office, this is a way to help change that. #VirginiaElections

Nice turnout for the #NoKings protest in Yorktown. There is something poetic about having this rally in historic Yorktown. Make your voices heard & be safe friends! It really is easier than you think to slide into authoritarianism & while a protest doesn't solve it, it's an important way to push back

The world is a hot mess. Here is my sweet pup smelling flowers to keep us sane (don't worry she does not eat them ever) #dogsofbluesky

Snakes are largely misunderstood beautiful creatures in my book. Here are two ribbon snakes hanging out in some lovely foliage that I saw on a nature walk today, plus a pretty view and a box turtle

Back to my regular schedule of communing with nature to suppress anxiety about American politics. I witnessed a fawn feeding from their mama and saw lots of beauty

Our Mother's Day tradition is a family hike which we have been doing since my first son was born over 15 years ago. Here are a few pics of our adventure. Sorry if you're afraid of snakes, but I promise these are harmless!
