Just some guy trying to make things happen. EVs, clean energy, finance, deep tech.

Earlier a business journalist and editor (The Morning Context, The Ken, Mint). he/him. On the Fediverse as @pranavenstein@mastodon.world, Threads at @pranavenstein
I don’t know what goes on inside the mind of a Wall Street Journal personal finance headline writer, but surely there was a less cringe way of phrasing that.

Normalize ignoring things instead of commenting on them.
Just to get a head of this, no one is requiring you to read “The Argument”. If you don’t like it, you can simply ignore it.

If the WSJ’s reporting is accurate on the details, then Intel shareholders really need to get rid of Frank Yeary (chairman) and get someone from the industry as chair.

Lip-bu was brought in (like Pat Gelsinger before him) to execute a turnaround. Give him the freedom to do it.

My guess is the Indian trade delegation tried to be too clever and make a convoluted offer that didn’t give Trump something useless to brag about. If so, incompetence on our part.
I genuinely have no idea why this admin is suddenly so mad at India lmfao. Nothing has changed over the last like month or so?

Bryant is doing a public service here. The NYT should just be banned from writing about AI or games.
This is an insane thing to write about game development. www.nytimes.com/2025/07/28/a...

The US and EU collectively should have stepped in and enforced an end date to the Gaza assault. Made all support conditional on a finite conflict.

But they (especially the US) effectively gave Netanyahu carte blanche.
That the goal of a Netanyahu government with right wing extremist coalition partners would be mass expulsion of most of the remaining Palestinian population from Gaza and the West Bank was clear by two or three weeks after Sinwar's insane attack enabled Netanyahu to fully mobilise Israeli society

Mayor of New York should not be a topic of international note. Just a piece of general information.
So it's deranged that there is a National Conversation around NYC mayoral race

But I want to be clear - it's even more deranged for non-Americans to be invested. You have been broken on the wheel of social media.

Just a day or so before the launch week sales figures came out, I saw at least one gaming-related podcast talking about how the Switch 2 is slightly disappointing. Clearly the case.
While other outlets were putting out "Oh no!" skeptical Nintendo articles, I was repeatedly and consistently bullish on Nintendo heading into the Switch 2 super cycle.

Nintendo shares are among the best performing stocks in the entire global market this year. Up about 40% YTD

Therapy is a *treatment option* for people responsive to it. It is not a coda for mental health or intrinsic to human wellbeing. Destigmatization does not require a universal prescription or evangelization. I don't tell everybody to take ADHD medication so they understand me.

It’s funny, but I actually didn’t know where places were or how to get to them.

To be clear, anything within walking distance in my childhood or college life, I could understand. But anywhere that required taking a bus or a cab, I had no clue where it was located spatially.

Anyone else remember the dark god cult Captcha meme? Lord Inglip (had to look up the exact name).

Those were fun times.

The judge’s order in Epic vs Apple is *scathing*. Especially the part about Phil Schiller pointing out well in advance that charging devs 27% on payments outside of the app would not pass muster with the court.

Apple, of course, is going to appeal.

Yes, please stop talking about water use per query or whatever. It doesn't work that way.

(Water use *is* a concern with datacenters etc. in general depending on the location, because you might use up local sources of water, but not because it somehow gets vaporized away.)
There are many valid criticisms of AI but by far the least valid is the "uses X gallons of water for every query" one. Y'all understand that the water is used for cooling, and is circulated back into the system? It's not like they are using it once and then dumping it into the ocean or something.

Click X and... nothing. Click click click. Nothing. Click on the green camera icon, popup goes away.

How this is part of Apple UX, I don’t know.

Not going to lie, the fact that someone called Big Balls has access to US government systems is hugely funny.

Happy people are finally talking about YouTube’s podcast domination.

I don’t think TikTok/Shorts is the big factor though. My hunch is more people intrinsically consume visual content than audio. Note: Text is visual.

He’s not satisfied being scratched with just one hand. Sometimes he pokes at the other hand until I’m fully engaged in petting.

I was watching this yesterday and it kind of struck me again how Apple has mucked up the MacBook lineup. Both the 15-inch Air and the new base model Pro seem like they would be weak sellers.

The 15-inch Air is like the iPhone mini of Macs, IMO.

As I launch yet another Twitter replacement, I think again about how nice it would be if we didn't have some kind of repost mechanism. Instead, just quote posts, replies and likes.
