I’m trying to recall Secretary Greg Moriarty’s finest hour. Was it signing the $45B (up from $35B) contract for 9 Hunter Class frigates (downgraded to 6 frigates for the same $45B) OR his judgement in hiring #RoboDebt’s Kathryn Campbell for $900K p/a👇? #auspol

Trump standing up in German-speaking Switzerland* telling the Swiss that if it wasn't for the Americans, they'd be "speaking German by now".

(*yes the Swiss speak Swiss-German, but standard German is their national language. In fact most Swiss speak at least 3 languages)

Your reminder: In 2013, a vindictive Tony Abbott and his new Foreign Minister, Julie Bishop, revoked Steve Bracks’ appointment as consul-general in New York. The idea Labor should reward any former Coalition politician is an idea that belongs in the #Newscorpse echo chamber.

The domination of this site by American news and American topics is one of its greatest drawbacks

Holy shit! Trump has no decency or compassion.

A reporter asked if he planned to attend the funeral of Sarah Beckstrom, the National Guard member who just died.

Instead of offering condolences, he said he would “consider it” and pivoted to bragging about his margin of victory in West Virginia.

For those not fluent in Catholic: refusing the Monstrance is not denying prisoners the Eucharist, it is refusing Christ himself, since Christ is present in the Monstrance.

If Portland’s blow up animals are the right language for Portland, this is the right language for Chicago.
Chicago priest Fr. Larry Dowling describes procession to ICE facility: “No one had the courage to speak directly to us. No one from Homeland Security could stand in the presence of the Monstrance holding the Blessed Sacrament. No wonder. Evil is repelled, recoils in the presence of Christ.”
