Portland is cool
Wtf is this???
Cutting property taxes for Oregonians affected by wildfires. Canceling planned freeway tolls. Pausing local new taxes in the Portland area. We have to keep going to make life more affordable for Oregonians.

Put this man in charge of ODOT!
With a little bit of creativity, HB2017's promised freeway improvements could be delivered immediately for just the cost of paint and a bit of asphalt. It would look something like this. The promised improvements were:
- Address Rose Quarter congestion
- Improve north-south vehicle flow

This James Beard Award-winning Portland bakery is closing in 9 days
But there's hope for a sweet comeback for the beloved bakery, which took home America's most prestigious culinary award earlier this year.

I cannot emphasize enough that affordability has to be our number one focus right now. The number one driver of people living on our streets is the fact that they can't make rent - they can't keep up with the fact that almost everything is more expensive right now.

In 2026, I want cranes in the sky. I intend to deliver on Design Review reforms and keep cutting the red tape that has slowed or deterred development in Portland.

Next year is about more development, more jobs, more homes, faster.
Portland design review study gets green light
The City Council on Wednesday approved a resolution to study possible reforms and a moratorium, aiming to streamline development and boost housing production.

There needs to be real questions asked about the PBOT Director accepting a speaking gig in Saudi Arabia. How did this get approved?

The flier says “See You There” - I probably won’t because I don’t want to go to a place where LGBTQ+ people are criminally punished and where journalists are murdered.

An “accident chain” is a collection of small mistakes or oversights that, together, can lead to an accident, injury or death. As the former CEO of one of North America’s safest freight trucking companies, I’ve learned to see these potential chain-links everywhere.

It was a beautiful Sunday in Portland. Farmer’s markets, the Portland Marathon, peaceful protests, and some views of Mt. Hood. This city is vibrant, peaceful, and resilient. We do not need a federal occupation, and we sure as hell don’t want one.

A federal judge reaffirmed what everyone in Portland already knew- the military mobilization on our city was illegal and unnecessary.
A judge on Saturday ordered the Trump administration to halt its mobilization of 200 Oregon National Guard troops to protect the ICE building in Portland and its officers amid nightly protests.

Thanks @councilorkanal.bsky.social We love public transit in Portland 🚆

Portland’s neighborhoods are covered in the skeletons of out-of-service streetcar tracks. We have public transit in our bones and it’s time we prioritized it. Vision Zero, climate goals, and Portland’s vibrancy are at stake.
I strongly support expanding TriMet and have started to call around to Metro Councilors about what the barriers are to Metro taking over TriMet so that local control can enable greater investment. The state cut TriMet funding, not the City, and regardless of who runs it, we need to expand it.

Thank you to all the Portland and Oregon leaders who are stepping up in solitary to stop this tyrannical takeover attempt.
When you're asked by your grandchildren what you did when tyranny came to Portland, you need to be proud of the answer. Show up, stay peaceful, stay safe, and stand up for Portland.
