I've been advocating for a few weeks: have town halls & rallies in red districts and glad to learn @sanders.senate.gov is going out on the trail & @repjasmine.bsky.social is working social media/news.

Happening in Georgia! The news is getting out. trump can't hide.

57 companies are responsible for 80% of global greenhouse gas emissions since 2016.

These companies include fossil fuel giants like Chevron, Shell, and BP, who have been raking in record profits.

The profits of Big Oil should not be more important than the future of our planet.

Media stories about the wildfires often don’t mention the role of climate change at all, and if they do, they do not mention that climate change is caused by the burning of fossil fuels. This is a human-caused problem, not a mere act of God. www.currentaffairs.org/news/yes-we-...
Yes, We Need To Call Out The Climate Criminals Right Now
The California wildfires are not a mere act of God. These apocalyptic scenes will increase as the climate crisis worsens unless we end the culture of denial.

Imagine watching disaster movies like The Day After Tomorrow or 2012 and thinking that the apocalyptic weather scenes were the “unrealistic” part.

Turns out those scenes were almost bang on.

The unrealistic part was the humans working together to overcome the problem & save the world. Sigh.

Also there is now another fire burning in the Hollywood Hills.

If you work at Meta and support LGBTQ+ people no you don't.
Meta literally created a LGBTQ exception for calling someone mentally ill as an insult. You can't do it for any other group except LGBTQ people.

“Don’t be mad at the people corrupting our government, be mad at the government,” is a take I have seen a lot.

I contempt enough for both.
How misguided for the U.S. to see this as primarily a morality play about corporate greed rather than a result of dysfunctional, corrupt political/judicial governance.

Individuals are not more evil today; society has become more tolerant of such - or at least the representatives of the people.

I am happy to pay higher taxes if it means the people on my street or in the next neighborhood or five towns over are better cared for, can put food on the table, can care for their children.

Society is a collective. If you are well, I am well. Everyone benefits.
Like am I some fucking unicorn because I actually think people should be fairly taxed across the spectrum to pay for equitable provision of services to the community even though I'm in a household that will end up paying a decent chunk of that tax?
