I think this is an enormously important distinction, and to me the line is about A) whether you treat your own beliefs as individual or universal, and B) whose behavior your God is policing: yours, or everybody else’s
i find some political religiosity distasteful when done in one's capacity as a political leader (e.g. saying from a capitol lectern "we passed this bill to honor god") and sometimes where that specific line is can be hard to pin down but it's certainly not "i consulted my faith to decide to run" lol

To understand why this letter is so shady, you have to understand that the family and their lawyers had been in touch with both ICE and the DOJ about this case EXTENSIVELY on April 22-24, meaning ICE knew it was about to be sued.

Only AFTER all of that communication was this note written.

2-Year-Old U.S. Citizen Deported ‘With No Meaningful Process,’ Judge Suspects
A federal judge in Louisiana said the deportation of the child to Honduras with her mother, even though her father had filed an emergency petition, appeared to be “illegal and unconstitutional.”

Democrats who think Trump's immigration approval ratings will only go up if you talk about it, think again.

"Deported a 2-year-old" is the kind of phrase that can sour people on this issue. The huge swings on public opinion depend entirely on where the focus is.
NEW: A federal judge raised alarm Friday that the Trump administration appeared to have deported a 2-year-old U.S. citizen to Honduras with "no meaningful process" — even as her father was fighting to keep her in the country.

This is what a dictator does. And we should all be alarmed.

Attackers in Russia tried logging in using those new creds.
Correct usernames and passwords.

2 options here. The DOGE device was hacked. And I don't think I need to explain the 2nd.

This country is becoming unrecognizable. What we’re seeing is state-funded fear. We’ve warned people: keep filming, go live on social media so these moments are documented and shared. This wasn’t a case involving masked ICE agents—but that’s happening too.

As long as universities continue to have their main role be "ticket to middle class," it'd be insane to expect them to serve classical liberal education functions. It's too late, but I think things would be a lot better if job-prep and preserving the Great Conversation were separate institutions.

This is big: House Republicans tucked language into the budget res “rule” that bans the House from voting to terminate Trump’s emergency declaration used to impose tariffs. TL;DR lawmakers who vote for this are officially giving up their power to revoke his tariffs until October.
