Some photo 📸, some politic (sorry for politic) 🗳️, trying to chuckle the pain away and get outside more often.
Pinned
Got a new 50mm vintage lens, so I took a walk around the neighborhood this evening while it was cool out. Felt good; been too complacent.
I grew up in a relatively dark countryside area, but going to an actual stargazing area where its DARK, you can see so much, even with my glasses-wearing ass.

This was taken in Coopers Rock State Forest, WV; 28mm/f4 @ 10s exposure. It was amazing to see in person.

Seeing a Game Boy Color in a museum, and remembering that I used to play mine in a big pine tree on hot summer afternoons feels like the modern equivalent of "When I was a kid I played with a hoop and a stick in the 1890s."
At the Augusta Museum

The idea that I can drive from western PA to DC or PHL in about 4 hours, but the same Amtrak takes like 8 is one of those. It will never make sense to take rail without it being high speed or with more/straight through service.
seriously though, there is very clearly pent up demand for rail options and every reason to build out as much new rail as possible.

you know the scene in Toy Story, before the birthday party, when all the toys are running an elaborate operation to see what gifts are being brought into the house? that's me at Christmas time with the deliveries

Roll outta bed, the captain's dead
The sun is looking bright
Your android friend's decapitated
And his blood is gloopy white

Never thought you'd be a Final Girl

Watched 'All the President's Men' this weekend, and it's amazing how, politically, things are basically the same. The difference back then was apparently that they had real journalism without billionaire oversight. Editor just like "You have sources who won't go on record?! Fine, I'll print it."

This composition had eluded me for nearly a decade, but yesterday I was finally able to capture it. A train rolled through just as the Duquesne Incline was crossing over the tracks in #Pittsburgh, creating a picture perfect winter scene. It was worth the hours and hours I've waited over the years.

Last night my 16yo decided to make cookies and ended up accidentally flinging a tennis-ball sized chunk of cookie dough across the room.

Playing a lot of Nightreign recently, and I think there's a lot to love about that game. Moreso than any other Fromsoft game, even. But, like all of the Soulsgames before it, it papers over a lot of poor design decisions with "yeah, but difficult", when it's not really difficult, it's cheap.
