Honestly, the "OMG they have a Homestuck header" thing is overplayed. There are literally millions of you fuckers. Creeping a new friend's blog and seeing a header based on a shitty 2000s webcomic you've never met a second fan of in your life, that's REAL mortifying-ordeal-of-being-known shit.

Just don't. The idea that Copilot or ChatGPT are suddenly essential tools is just buying into the corporate ad blitz.
Games were made just fine (well, relatively) up through...what, 2023? 2024? They didn't suddenly become VITAL for budgets or design docs in the last 2-3 years.

This is very real. While players might think they're being helpful collaborators, the reality is IP law is VERY tricky and so us writers can't even engage with/look at ideas you send us because it opens the door for lawsuits. :(
PSA: Please do not send me or my colleagues your story ideas for the game we're actively working on. Especially do not send us your long, detailed manifesto about what changes we should make and your ideas for improving the story. We can't read it. We won't read it. Don't do it!

People need to understand that working in games is a "theme park job." Everyone on the outside sees the rides and the mascot suits and assumes it's a fun day out, five days a week. It can be fun, but it's still work. But it's that flawed perception that leads to studios taking advantage of workers.

The games industry brings in 300 billion dollars a year. The guy who made DOOM gets his projects canceled, the guy who made Katamari Damacy is broke, everyone in your feed is begging for a job and there are 50 new games coming out on Steam every day all going towards buying Gabe Newell's next yacht
Keita Takahashi (Katamari, Wattam, Noby Noby Boy) has moved back to Japan, and says he may be forced to quit the games industry due to To a T underperforming.
He also says he'd love to work on Katamari again, and for someone to invest in his studio.
