I feel like I've done a good job of this with @intheraptorsclaws.bsky.social. It's definitely something that's been on my mind writing it!
One thing I should blame a lot of military fiction for is the trope of some new "advanced technology" being the war winner when in reality almost every war in history has been decided by logistics - who can bring the most men and supplies where. Something that doesn't translate well to fiction.
