It's a crime that Stranger Things helps Wizards sell D&D instead of Tales from the Loop. Stranger Things barely has anything to do with D&D, but Tales from the Loop allows you to play a story exactly like Stranger Things

Tales from the Loop is "Kids on a science fantasy adventure" the game

Two days ago, I saw some Frazetta art and thought, this is so good, just wish it was less racist and sexist. Then yesterday, I was just ranting about how good a pulp sci-fi rpg would be.

This definitely sounds like something I could do
Just want to put out feelers for a TTRPG writer/dev or two who would be interested in collaborating on a pulpy scifi/fantasy project in 2026 with myself and another artist/writer. Ideally someone who'd fuck with "Frank Frazetta but queer" as an aesthetic. Would love 2 chat if this sounds interesting

Getting fifth place in a swim competition turned out to be the most profitable thing this idiot could have ever done with her life.

Conservative heroes are the most pathetic losers imaginable
Anti-trans demagogue and fifth place swimmer Riley Gaines earned $470,000+ last year from a conservative non-profit.

Notably, $420k was incentive-based.

A neat little window into the way the transphobic grift is being compensated.

I wonder what the per-post rate is?

Cosmic Patrol is apparently an RPG based on pulp sci fi, but you'd never know it by the absolutely terrible cover

They had the opportunity to do something amazing recreating some sort of old pulp cover to immediately transport you

lololol, no, many of us knew it was true the second we learned about it.

You just have to understand power and you could easily see how true it all was. None of this is remotely surprising.
When I first heard the whispers of the Epstein shit, back about when most of you did as well...

I didn't believe them.

And most of you did not either, and if you think you did you're retconning most of you. And we should all personally to ourselves acknowledge that and WHY we had such skepticism.

Just mentioning it off-hand, but on top of being the best Far Cry game since Primal, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is a much better story than the films.

No white saviors here. You're a Na'vi abducted at childhood to be groomed into a corporate 'ambassador'. It's far more pointedly anti-colonialist.

One of the best games ever made is GURPS Goblins. It was based on some indie RPG in New Zealand that I've never been able to find, and I've looked specifically because the brilliant gems of genius in it are clearly from the original game. And everything GURPS in it sucks and is bad
GURPS is a hard system to run in practice but god it's got so much great stuff to draw on.

To date, I still have not found a font that is easier on my eyes and more accessible than Comic Sans.

Fuck anyone who mocks the use of Comic Sans because no accessibility font or dyslexia font or anything else feels better to read and I could care less if random local businesses overused it or w/e

I forgot that I designed a game very similar to the theme and the non-Telltale mechanics of Dispatch a decade ago.

The super hero management was a lot more in depth than Dispatch's since that was the entire game. Of course, I wasn't thinking Aaron Paul would have any lines, so my bad there

If players won’t act because of caution, make inaction the threat.

Problem solved. This “type of player” no longer exists with the right GMing.
The thing I despise most in a TTRPG—more than "immersion," even—is when people play defensively, which is to say they don't do anything if it's even remotely dangerous for their character. It's especially galling in my games, *since your character literally cannot be killed unless you agree to it.*

I genuinely worry about the state of the left's understanding of ethics. They seem to take good moral and ethical guidelines and misunderstand them, catastrophize events, view everything out of context and with zero nuance, and then apply sweeping moral judgments, even to themselves.
how you gonna block someone when they fucking call you out for misrepresenting news and riling people up? I've read at least 4 fucking post today of people stressing about having enjoyed Expedition 33, 1 of those claiming they were going to harm themselves and not joking about it. WORDS MEAN THINGS

Ok I know this post is about AI but like. I'm a creative person and I absolutely do make things primarily for the end product. I absolutely get a lot more enjoyment out of presenting a finished project than I do from the process of creating it

I think the fundamental gap here is that non-creative people think that creative people make things for the end product, when in fact it’s the act of creation and not the end point that makes it worthwhile.

This is the perspective a lot of people have about a lot of things.

"Only a bad person would do X and I'm a good person so that's that"

It's beyond reductive and allows zero nuance or the complexities of life or being human or making mistakes.
talking with people about this it's becoming extremely clear that a lot of people simply believe that using AI is something only bad people do as an intentional act of malice. It cannot be out of ignorance to it's harms, and there is no room for learning or growing or changing minds.

Hey, so this app is friggin awesome. If you get tired of hunting for YouTube playlists for TTRPG sessions or want some more interactivity with your soundscapes. I'm honestly really impressed. Might even do the subscription option if my players find it as fun as I do.
