Bruce Fanjoy: Statement Regarding the Return to Office Policy February 9*, 2026 On February 5th, 2026, the federal government announced an updated Return-to-Office (RTO) policy for federal public servants. Today, I am calling upon the government to reconsider this policy for the following reasons: 1. The new RTO policy makes it harder to achieve the government's priorities of reducing the operating cost of government, improving affordability, and respecting the environment. Instead, it will cost both the government and citizens more and increase pollution. 2. There is little to no evidence that a one-size-fits-all RTO policy will improve productivity or service to Canadians. 3. The RTO policy makes it harder for public servants to balance work with other responsibilities. I believe Canada is better served by a hybrid model that balances a mix of in-office and remote work. The right balance is flexible and depends on circumstances. Done well, a hybrid model reduces the cost of government and benefits workers and all Canadians. i know i've been pretty quiet but here's the result of my January: a totally handmade, fully-functional marionette created for a local winter-themed puppet show. she's called the Winter Maw & she'll eat you alive, just like real winter

One, awarded in 2021, covers a "law enforcement investigative database subscription. Another, awarded in 2023, is for "risk mitigation services." A third, awarded in 2025, is for a "maritime analysis tool" and "subject matter expert support services to the support the homeland security investigations, operation national initiative for illicit trade enforcement program." How much? The 2021 contract is worth US$22.8 million. The 2023 contract has seen Thomson Reuters awarded US$2.7 million to date, and has a potential award amount of US$4.6 million. The 2025 contract has so far garnered the media giant US$1.8 million, with a potential award amount of $3.6 million. Together, the three contracts are worth a potential US$31 million.

This is fucking grim. Somebody invented a white guy, an "IT professional" named Edward Crabtree, who stopped the Bondi shooting and spread it all over the internet, which was picked up by AI agents and slop aggregation sites.

The real hero is a fruit stand owner named Ahmed el Ahmed.
