I live in a suburban town in NM. I moved here in 2012 from Boston, whenever 9/11 was brought up, people here would tell me that they had been so worried that there would be a terrorist attack on the town. They don't even have a big fork here. The world's largest pistachio is 200 miles away, though

I’ve noticed how often even well-meaning cis white men just *totally miss* that the Musk/Trump regime are obviously driven by overt and hideous misogyny, in addition to overt and hideous racism.
It is a non-stop source of amazement how invisible misogyny remains to white men, who even now--after the highly respected Coast Guard Commandant was fired for being female & turfed out of her home with 3hrs notice--STILL write about MAGA & the purges of the federal gov as driven only by racism.
