BREAKING: The Supreme Court DENIES former county clerk Kim Davis's request for the justices to take up her longshot bid to overturn 2015's Obergefell v. Hodges marriage equality decision. No justice even writes about the request.

There is a super interesting opportunity though my grad school for both mentoring and training in public scholarship.

Saw someone upbraiding someone else for having a hobby while the world is on fire, and, my friends:

1. The world is ever on fire, this is today's conflagration;

2. If you don't find time for rest and joy the fire will consume you;

3. Don't let people shame you for being an entire human.

It's here! The newest issue of @edpsychjournal.bsky.social asks: why aren't you including students with disabilities in your research?

Then, an amazing group of scholars demonstrate how and why they DO. I want to highlight a few aspects of the special issue in particular:

I really like this study of the reasons college students move from one STEM major to another, particularly its focus on both the attractive aspects of the new major AND their disenchantments with their old major. Both parts are important. #PsychSciSky #AcademicSky #EduSky

Pro tip, folks: if you make a figure for a publication, don’t just hand the copyright over to the publisher. Post it on OSF first and then give yourself permission to use it in the first publication and then all future publications. That way, no permissions issues.

I very much feel seen here, official ADHD diagnosis or not.
A core problem for ADHD academics in revising for publication is reining in their divergent thinking so others can understand the core contribution.

And being bored with the project now because YOU know all this. You'd rather be off chasing other cool connections your brain has made.

Good News: We just passed the “Taylor Swift” bill, creating civil penalties to people/entities that create bots to purchase event tickets on the internet. Good win for event venues and consumers!

Going to say this repeatedly, because I'm an historian and educator: anyone who allies with the Trump administration to fight "DEI" is on the side of segregation. 🧵 from @jrothst.bsky.social
There’s a historical aspect of the Trump administration’s attack on universities that I think has not been appreciated: Their legal theories are based on a perversion of one of the greatest legal accomplishments of the American project - school desegregation. 🧵 1/
