with everything going on the thing that has made me the most upset today is that a famous woman made a post about how lucky she is to be with her partner and the first piece of evidence she offered was that he brings his cart back at the grocery store

Just remembered how we held my dad’s funeral reception at my mom’s assisted living facility and at one point one of the people who worked there came in and made an announcement shilling for the company, brought brochures, told people they looked like the target age demographic

I am *so* excited for this book!!! Finally, shipping 12/1. Laura isn’t on social media so I have assumed the PR role — buy this book! I’ve been reading these stories for years and it’s the most compelling political science stuff I’ve ever read. Also Laura painted the cover art!

Y’all I have *a lot* of ideas on how to build up civil discourse from the level of community discussions on public problems and I think my ideas could be super useful! But scaling up requires (a lot of) resources, and those resources need to be nonpartisan or at least copartisan.
I should write more on what I’m about to say rather than flaring off at pundits — but this whole discourse keeps reducing a structural problem to liberals’ individual choices.

U.S. politics needs a nation-building agenda — a policy program crafted to _make_ us know each other better.

This is an absurd system, these hours are ridiculous. I just want public transit 😭😩😡 I don’t even understand how people afford private transportation, like surprise there’s a screw in your tire and now you need to spend ~$800 on a complete set!

For a period of time in the early 2010s my friends described me as “good at concerts” so I have a lot. But mostly the afterparties. Penny Lane in the PBR&B era.

People on this site spend so much time talking about messaging and the thing is messaging has absolutely nothing to do with why we are here, it's the complete absence of any platforms to put messaging or information on.
