Weird: Yesterday an Iowa House Ag subcommittee considered a bill on buffer strips (a practice to improve water quality).
Public comments were all in favor. So was Democrat @jdscholten.bsky.social. But Rs on the subcommittee killed the bill. I asked JD what happened:

After doing some research, it appears that there are only 2 people in the history of our country that have played a professional sport while also being an elected official at the same time, Tom Pridemore and myself.
