Could be. Could also be arthritis. Or crepitus. Or normal. Mine is due to the rotator cuff repair I had in May for one, and crepitus/arthritis in the other.

I used MQP in my dissertation. For a class I took (20 years ago), we used his Utilization-Focused Evaluation text (5th ed here: us.sagepub.com/en-us/nam/ut...), and I still refer to that today. I also have Denzin & Lincoln's qual handbook on my shelf (us.sagepub.com/en-us/nam/th...)

I believe this is akin to "beats getting poked in the eye with a sharp stick." Glad you weren't whisked away. Hopefully answers and solutions are identified soon.

Also, the notion of not just knowing this already, but getting to the knowing part FAR before my colleagues, and then having to reign in my face so it doesn't register the (real or imagined) annoyance I have that they haven't gotten it yet.
