With three books published, the Living Sword series is my only series so far.

It has action, humor, and a talking sword very particular about their appearance and with a love of storytelling.

A 1631 lease for a fishery near Darlington, in NE England, makes mention of an "eel ark" without explaining what it is. Likely it's another name for an eel trap, or maybe for a fishlock.

But, friends...just imagine: Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Eel Ark.

His hat is in fine shape, and he's stroking his chin as he ponders his next move. He's about to replace the idol with a bag of sand, only to have shit get real, real fast. Behind him is a jungle temple, replete with surprisingly effective and deadly traps. The effectiveness and durability of these traps suggests that a unionized crew did the work. The idol is facing away from you, and you can see that its hair is combed straight down its head. It does not know it, but it's destined for a future in an American museum. Later on, a diverse band of intrepid thieves with unique character traits will try to steal it from the museum in a totally separate movie that's part "Topkapi" and part "Money Train" called "Idol Engines." There will be a planned sequel that won't happen. Meme text reads: "TFW It's not the eel You were looking for"

The remarkably well-preserved York Helmet, dated AD 770-775, is one of only six surviving helmets from Anglo-Saxon Britain. A Latin inscription bears the name ‘Oshere’. Discovered by a digger operator in York in 1982. Iron and copper-alloy.

My photo shows a front view of the so-called York Helmet on display at the Yorkshire Museum in York. This Anglian helmet is composed of four main elements; a composite cap (brown in colour), two hinged cheek-pieces (also brown in colour) and a brass neckguard made of ring mail ( dark in my photo). A brass-coloured nose guard is decorated with intricate interlaced animals. The 'eyebrows' have animal-head terminals. An inscribed copper alloy band runs over and across the crest of the helmet. The interlacing animals on the nose guard have open lips, comma-shaped eyes and spiral hips. Between the ‘eyebrows' and facing downward, is a larger animal head with a rounded snout and comma-shaped eyes, like those on the nose guard. This animal has ears on either side of its head that merge with the inscribed copper alloy band. A Latin inscription on the band reads: 'IN. NOMINE. DNI. NOSTRI. IHV. SCS. SPS. D. ET. OMNIBUS. DECEMUS. AMEN. OSHERE. XPI.' This abbreviated Latin inscription may be translated as 'In the name of our Lord Jesus, the Holy Spirit, God and with all we pray. Amen. Oshere. Christ.' Oshere was probably a member of the powerful ruling dynasty of the kingdom of Northumbria. The helmet was heavily worn and had been repaired when for reasons unknown, it was buried with care in a square wood-lined pit, perhaps for safeguarding and later retrieval at a time when York was occupied by Vikings. But it lay unrecovered for around a thousand years, until it was discovered by a digger operator in 1982.

And I just learned that Larian Studios is using gen AI for its next Divinity game.

And all my interest in the title just disappeared. Removing human creativity from the start of the project might be 'efficient', but it also will drain an unknowable amount of originality from the final product.

Wow, this ancient Egyptian linen shirt is the world’s oldest known complex woven garment. Known as the Tarkhan Dress, it was cut and tailored to fit some 5,000 years ago!

This museum image shows an ancient Egyptian linen shirt displayed on a mannequin against a black background. The linen is a yellowy colour from age. The shirt has long pleated sleeves, a pleated bodice, and a V-shaped neckline. Beneath the pleated bodice the fabric is plain woven. The hem is missing so it's not possible to know the precise length of the garment. The fabric has deteriorated in places with some areas frayed or partially missing especially along the sleeves and lower edges. The mannequin underneath is smooth and white, clearly visible where the fabric has deteriorated.

I have just found out that some reprehensible fucking dork has made an AI chatbot based on the character I played on The Magnus Archives and *it has my voice*. I genuinely don't think I have ever felt so fucking violated. My actual voice. Saying things I have never said. I feel sick.
