And one more rescue animal than is comfortable.
Twitter accounts are based in Russia. BlueSky accounts are based in homes with, frankly, too many books, plants, obsolete cables, and pieces of rustic pottery, that could do with a bit of a tidying up, to be honest.

I’d like to kiss Past Me for making a shopping list of Thanksgiving ingredients that lives on my phone, bc Present Me totally forgot about it, & was surprised to find it while struggling to make a shopping list, & we have both conspired to make life easier for Future Me.

“Short bursts indicate an ICE sighting. Long whistles indicate agents making arrests. If you hear the whistle and you’re undocumented, said [Whitney Hu, a community activist and organizer with South Brooklyn Mutual Aid], ‘you hide. And if you’re somebody who’s not, you go to the street.’”
As ICE Street Raids Ramp Up, New Yorkers Stock Up On Whistles
Taking a cue from Chicago, community groups have distributed thousands of whistles in recent weeks — a grassroots system people in other cities have adopted to help neighbors sound the alarm.

I now 1000% believe that trump was watching #SNL bc he loves that they talk about him, saw the MacGruber bit where he says “the only people who don’t want the list out are the people who have done something wrong” and his lizard brain told him he had to endorse the House vote

Going to bed. Twice is too many times in my life for Bill Clinton’s dick to be a topic of public conversation. Couldn’t we have brought back something harmless? Like jncos or old MTV. But no, it’s Bill Clinton dick. Again.

Important to understand the Epstein stuff and the fascism and the corruption are, in a lot of ways, really all the same story from different angles: powerful men who can and do abuse vulnerable people around them because they can, and because systems of elite accountability catastrophically failed

The value of reading history is you know that in 1860 there were abolitionists who were so demoralized that they thought chattel slavery would be permanent. 5 years later those still alive had lived to see its end.

As I've always said, I will not support a government funding bill that continues to raise our costs, jeopardizes our health care, and hurts the people of my state.

I’m urging my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to stand up for Americans who are counting on us to lower their costs, and address…

I can NOT afford an extra $500/mo. I am barely making it as is.
@andykimnj.bsky.social & @corybooker.com BETTER not vote for this bullshit. Why have we made people suffer for 40 days to get nothing? Because the airports got sad, & Senators wanted to go home for the weekend?? I am going to explode.
The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.

The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.

People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.

And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.

My family has been without half our income for 40 days. It has been.. very hard.

We are willing to feel that pain so people can have health care next year, or to undo these illegal recissions.

We are not willing to have been put through this for NOTHING.

I just had to redo my budget bc the math wasn’t mathing. My personal grocery bill for one person (partner and don’t eat the same things, cat supplies are a separate line item) jumped $75/month since Trump took over.

Groceries saw their biggest jump in nearly three years last month, a worrisome sign for inflation-weary shoppers. Tariffs are contributing to higher prices for imported staples like bananas and coffee.
