Friends, if you have the means to donate to a local food pantry financially via online giving, I highly encourage you to do that. But I don’t want to discount the importance of actually showing up at the pantry, even if it is just to drop off food. (1/5)

An anonymous officer was caught on video throwing a woman to the ground during a peaceful protest outside the ICE field office in Durango.

Dozens of protesters remained Tuesday after demonstrating through the night over the detainment of two children and their father on the way to school.

💬 Viewpoint: The Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) Commission’s strategy to address chronic diseases in children relies on weak, voluntary, and unsupported initiatives while neglecting proven, evidence-based public health interventions.

Agree with everything you say Conrad, although one thing to note is that there's a difference between "professional" respondents, who are people who take lots of surveys, and what we call "bogus" respondents, who are essentially just clicking through and not answering honestly.

Surveys that allow opt-in participation attract “survey professionals,” who may attempt to take the same survey multiple times using different personas (bogus respondents).

By contrast, you cannot volunteer for a @pewresearch.org survey. We invite randomly sampled people to be surveyed.

Bluesky vs. X engagement comparisons tell familiar story.

Example: My colleague @johngramlich.bsky.social has similar # of followers on each site. Last week, he had a popular post about sports gambling, a topic of interest across political ideology.

Absolutely mind blown to discover that all public transport is free across Luxembourg. Free buses. Free trams. Free trains. For residents and visitors. No tickets. No tapping in or out. No pesky apps. Just walk on and walk off.
