It's smart to evaporate your retirement savings so that when the concussive impact of widespread corruption, financial fraud, AI misrepresentation, and regulatory decapitation hits all at once you'll be caught flat footed with just a handful of pocket lint and a soggy shallot

Utterly unsurprised to see ninnies in here calling tear gas a nerve agent. You're all deeply unserious people.
Here's a few examples from the last day or so.

To put this in clearer perspective, when Bowser took office in 2015, there were 26 road fatalities the previous year. Last year there were 25 fatalities. In ten years of holding office, Bowser hasn’t meaningfully improved the road fatality rate.
In 2025, DC had the lowest number of roadway fatalities since 2014.

Big picture:

1. Roadway fatalities: -52%
2. Major roadway injuries: -29%
3. Driver fatalities: -67%

Our strategies to improve traffic safety are working.

Right now the US has 3.6 million people living on 4k square miles of land who can't vote for president or a voting rep in Congress. Add Greenland and it would be a bit more than 3.6 million people on 840k square miles of land, most of it uninhabitable.

I saw not one but three Jaguar XFs yesterday. Not sure I've seen one for months until now. And a lovely XJ40 Sovereign on the back of a flatbed.

Something Awful is very much to blame here.
Social media is toxic not because of material conditions. Social media is toxic because an antisocial culture was embraced as the dominant in many online spaces and that culture went on to capture an entire political party in the US.
"People are stressed out, that's why social media is toxic" is becoming a general-purpose excuse for bad behavior. The truth is just that ever since social media was created, it has just served as an way for you to take whatever psychic wars you are fighting out on a random person that popped up

I have a theory that those of us who were raised on IRC or AIM are absolutely insufferable in Slack to those who were not, because instead of writing a three-paragraph thing, we'll break that up into 15 comments.

We should and at some point we will know who did this crime and the others being committed under the color of law.

There will be a reckoning, and "I was just following orders" will not be a defense.

The Federalist Pig Fedwich is a goddamn lie. Never ever on the actual menu, just spammed all over social media.

I’ll just stick with 2Fifty in future.

I feel the same way about people from motorsport who still use the platform. That includes you, midweek motorsport listener’s collective and the-race community.
Really at a loss for how many people from my old music journalism world are still over on Zuck/Musk platforms but not here. I get it, there are companies I can't quit either and right now Bluesky feels like mainly political news. But I just wonder what the red line could ever be?

Only 57 Democrats voted NO.

✅Creates a new slush fund for Secretary of State Marco Rubio
✅Pushes a Big Tech agenda in trade policy
✅Cuts the IRS enforcement budget in order to encourage billionaire tax evasion
✅Advances Trump's imperialist foreign policy
✅Cuts funding to the United Nations
