We're living through one of those rare historical periods: a revolution by the rich. Usually, the rich oppose revolution because they benefit from the status quo. But this is a period where they think they can benefit from radical change (see the fencing of the commons in 18th Century Britain).

Mark Epstein said the emails "were simply part of a humorous private exchange between two brothers and were never meant for public release or to be interpreted as serious remarks."
Note that there is nothing in that statement that says the emails are untrue.
