"Ravenswood" is a Dungeons & Dragons sounding name for a neighborhood.

Chicago based individual, but still New Orleans related. Georgia raised via UGA & SSI.

With ICE and border patrol goons spreading out across the country, I put together a resource guide for buying, printing, and distributing whistles, based on my own experience. Now is the time to whistle up, hope this helps. dansinker.com/posts/202…

A lot of civic leaders in Louisiana are not prepared for how destructive & disruptive the bad guys are going to be in & around New Orleans.
One thing I’ll say though is that local lefty groups were prepared for this shit.

I remember reaching out to an official asking how they’d be prepared for this moment and got brushed off.

But brings a modicum of peace of mind knowing that the citizenry was prepared for this.

Outside of Chicago, on the grounds of a former armory, decades ago an alliance of various orgs began restoring the prairie, and at Midewin Tallgrass Prairie they imported bison to roam the prairie once more. I love to visit my very large bi sons 💚🦬

The thing is, they lie. Over and over and over again. I don't think there's been a single incident in Chicago where their initial account proved out. Reporters should simply *not* be reporting what they say as fact, ever.
This is a thread detailing a series of incidents where federal Judge Ellis rules that Gregory Bovino and his agents lied or misrepresented what was happening on the streets of Chicago. In this one, she says body cam footage suggests they brake checked to cause accidents

Little update on this one: unsurprisingly, the majority of people who regularly attend public safety meetings in Chicago and respond to "tough on crime" Google surveys do NOT think CPD policy should prevent pretextual traffic stops.
All the discussions about CPD traffic stops though, I haven't heard anyone talk about the 4th Amendment to the US Constitution.

As long as the Jim Crow era Permanent Apportionment Act of 1929 stays on the books, Congress stays capped at 435 members and gerrymanders will always be an election cycle or court decision away.

Badly misjudged how long the CTA transfers would take so I got to the airport 4 hours early, unlocking an "achievement" many of the dads I know only dream of.

Pretty wild to hear all that "fuck the South" political discourse a week after Georgia Democrats won two statewide elections on the Public Service Commission and Virginia voters ran the GOP out of Richmond on a rail.

Real estate speculation wrecking nearby communities is one reason it is so hard to build civic amenities like the Bloomingdale Trail, the Lafitte Greenway in New Orleans, or the Atlanta Beltline.

Federal govt keep denying bond hearings to immigrants even though the feds keep losing habeas petitions. Their goal is to make people desperate enough that they’ll sign up for voluntary deportation, inflict pain so people leave, even if they have deep ties and good records in USA
A federal judge ruled Wednesday that the U.S. government’s mandatory detention of Diana Patricia Santillana Galeano, the day care teacher arrested at a Chicago preschool, is illegal and she must be given a bond hearing.
Judge rules mandatory detention of Chicago day care teacher by ICE is illegal
According to the ruling, Diana Santillana will be given a bond hearing in front of an immigration judge, who could order her released while her civil deportation case proceeds.
