How delicately a Romanesque angel uses the lightest touch of a finger to wake one of the magi, snuggled with the other 2 under their embroidered circular blanket at St Lazare, Autun, c1130 (& how beautifully the textures of pillow & blanket are represented).

Season's greetings to you all!

@peterprinsleymp.bsky.social please take note, i hope you think the same. When T Robinson starts endorsing your party's policies there is something seriously wrong
At least one Labour MP seems to have kept a grip on decency and common sense.
The Prime Minister said in September that we are at a fork in the road. These asylum proposals suggest we have taken the wrong turning.

The idea that recognised refugees need to be deported is wrong.

I’ve written to Keir Starmer, Kemi Badenoch and Nigel Farage urging them to condemn Donald Trump’s attack on the BBC.

The BBC belongs to Britain, not Trump. We must defend it together.

Over on the Other Place I would occasionally put this thread together, most recently during lockdown, four years ago in fact, and I realised I'd not done it here. So, bear with, and feel free to mute as this is an epic (genuinely, I’m not sure we won’t reach hitherto non-invoked thread limits tbh).

Rupert Lowe once mistook four charity rowers for an invasion.

Now he’s raging about 30 - 50 children with advanced clinical needs getting NHS treatment.

Par for the course, really, but what's the actual situation here?

Ian Hislop, "It is pretty ludicrous we have got to a state where a man is arrested for carrying a joke? I mean, freedom of expression, freedom of speech, all those things we claim to be interested in?"
