This is what I find really disturbing - people think we will magically return to normal; or the acceleration of heating will magically slow.
Otherwise why would people plan their futures (esp babies!) as if nothing would change and this were as bad as it will ever get 🙆🏼‍♀️
It's only the beginning.

12 locations exceeded 45C on 5 consecutive days. Some reached 50C.

Expect 55C within a decade or 2. Australia is already irrevocably changed & will become unlivable unless we halt global warming.

Australia can do more than most to mitigate CO2.

NOW, @albomp.bsky.social
Australia’s worst heatwave since black summer made five times more likely by global heating, analysis finds
Extreme heat ‘is getting worse and whether we like it or not … there’s ultimately a limit to what we can actually physically cope with,’ scientist says

Strong environmental laws do not rely on ministerial goodwill. They rely on science and enforceable rules. They set limits, remove discretion where it has failed, and make compliance unavoidable for both proponents and decision-makers.

Pt. 2 on UK’s Reform & #Auspol’s One Nation. MSM is normalising & growing these parties. In a moment when RW politicians use “social cohesion” to suppress any criticism of their goals & @albomp.bsky.social to suppress criticism of Israel, this is real threat.

The media wants MAGA in the UK and Australia
Too many legacy organisations and mainstream figures are working to make Farage's Reform and Hanson/Rinehart's One Nation into contenders for government.

NEW: Our investigation for @thenerve_news reveals not only that Peter Thiel’s Palantir is completely enmeshed in our critical national infrastructure.

It’s also the ‘cloud support’ for our nuclear weapons system 🤯
