DHS seeking to deport two men who said fellow ICE detainee was killed
The two men’s eyewitness accounts of the Jan. 3 death of Geraldo Lunas Campos at a Texas detention camp differ from the Department of Homeland Security’s account of the incident.

Looks like the EU-US trade deal is now dead, with all three major groups in the EU Parliament calling at least for suspension. The downward spiral has already begun.

“Make America Healthy Again”
Under President Trump, the EPA will stop considering lives saved when setting pollution limits and instead calculate only the cost to businesses. It’s counter to the agency’s mission statement, which says has a core responsibility to protect human health and the environment. nyti.ms/3Loch27

Washington politicians love to talk about what a good idea it is to ban stock trading in Congress, but then keep doing it.

Here's my message to them: You don’t need to wait for it to be banned. Stop trading right now.

I don’t trade stocks because it’s the right thing to do.

Congress has an obligation—and a legal right—to conduct oversight of federal facilities.

Trump, Kristi Noem, and this administration are breaking the law to avoid accountability.

I’m taking them to court.

Jebus Trist 🤬
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), run by Oz and his boss, RFK Jr., will no longer require physicians to report vaccination rates.

Instead, they plan to start having doctors report if they’ve discussed “alternative” vaccine schedules.

Often the only hope I feel for the U.S. comes from the poise, eloquence, focus, restraint, and backbone of so many of our nations young people that have been thrust into the public eye by horrific tragedies. These children have more integrity then most of our government representatives. 💔

There are several steps before impeachment: I would start with refusing to appropriate Defense and State without testimony from Hegseth, Rubio and Bondi. I mean if I was John Thune I would have encouraged Donald Trump to wait after January 30th. But as we all know, January 6 is a trigger for him.
Impeachment is the obvious elephant in the room. But there are other things you could say! WPR resolution. New legislation. Standing firm on the upcoming shutdown for once. Literally anything. Just say what you would actually do if you had the votes and then vote that way. It's not that complicated!

Gallego is right, and the weak-ass Schumer/Jeffries demands for briefings are inadequate. Sure, ask for a briefing from the crew launching military strikes from a Mar A Lago ballroom while scrolling twitter, whatever.

But what is needed is action. Vote to stop the war. Do it this week.
FOX NEWS: What are your expectations when you get briefings from senior Trump administration officials in the coming days?

Schumer is either incredibly naive or wants us to believe he's incredibly naive and I'm not sure which is worse
The Trump regime repeatedly lied to Congress about their intention to pursue regime change in Venezuela. They didn’t get Congressional approval for regime change, but did it anyway.

Demanding a briefing in response is both pathetic and nonsensical. Calling for impeachment is the obvious response.

By way of comparison, a total of 26 people died in ICE detention during the four years of the Biden administration.
Today I received FOUR death notifications for people in ICE custody. That's 30 deaths since Trump took office. It's appalling & unacceptable.

ICE is required—by law—to ensure detainees are safe & their basic needs are met. It's clear this isn't the case. We NEED answers.

Every single congressional Democrat needs to be out there, right now, insisting that Pete Hegseth resign right now and announcing that he will be held accountable for committing war crimes.

If you do not demand accountability here and now, they will only become more emboldened.
Exclusive: Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth gave an order to “kill everybody” in the first strike on suspected drug boats in the Caribbean. After two men survived, the mission commander ordered a second strike to comply with Hegseth’s instructions, according to two sources.

I once asked a bookseller at a large indie store how many people would have to buy a book for it to get the attention of the store buyer and cause an additional order and they said: Three.
I see some book piracy discourse, and, to make a positive argument in favor of buying books, your marginal ability to influence what books get published and support the careers of writers you like is massive compared to most other forms of media.
