Given JKR's huge influence on X, where Grok is creating child porn, her silence about it is notable and unconscionable? No condemnation of it, Musk or moral boycott while X enables this abuse, exposes the fallacy of 'protecting women & girls' if she prioritises alignment with Trump & his manosphere?

Graham Linehan is cheering for a man who shot a woman in the face while calling her a fucking bitch.

JK Rowling sits on her hands.

Meanwhile, Posie Parker is tweeting that women should stay at home while men work.

Tell me how the "gender critical" movement is a women's rights movement again?

Replace "America" and "European" with "British", and you get the perfect summation of British Tories and Reform.
Jen Sorensen nails the hypocrisy and racism of the "European culture" argument.

Come on, this is a woman who thought the best way to celebrate her Supreme Court victory was to post a picture of herself smoking a cigar on her 50 million quid superyacht.

That is, funnily enough, exactly the sort of unbearably smug thing Donald Trump would do.

The Rowling you saw on Twitter, maybe in 2015, celebrating Irish marriage equality, isn't real. She's a writer's invention. The real JK Rowling is the woman who chose a notorious anti-gay politician as her friend and Lumos charity co-founder.

That's obviously who she really is.

Rowling claims her whole reason for her anti-trans stance is to protect women's rights, so it should bother her intensely that a man who clearly doesn't give a shit is in lockstep with her on a human rights issue.

But it doesn't bother her, because her claim is arrant bullshit.

It's invented.

Think about how Rowling expresses her current *support* for gay rights: she cites the "innumerable" gay people in her emails supporting *her.*

But what does she do for them?

What she does is share stories by Reduxx, a magazine edited by a woman who calls gay men the F Slur.

Think about it, no working-class Leftist ends up being best friends and a charity co-founder with "Baroness" Emma Nicholson, a notoriously anti-gay rights politician, so anti-gay that she once had a lesbian group protesting on her lawn.

*That* is who JK Rowling *chose* as a best friend.

She encouraged the myth, though, because the myth sells.

Do you know what also sells? Being a pretend Leftist when you recognise that you have a young fanbase.

2018 was just Rowling beginning to reveal who she really is, who she has always been.

Rowling came from wealth. Her rags to riches story is also a myth. There are whole video essays out there debunking it. She was never "poor" in the way that actually poor people experience poverty. She had a wealthy person's social safety net (friends and family would just give her money.)

The real reason JK Rowling is comfortable with her choice is that she shares far more than a "single opinion" with Donald Trump. A persistent myth that needs to be pushed back against is that Rowling was ever the character she pretended to be on Twitter. She's a conservative activist. Always was.

Because the right wing are shallow and obsessed with aesthetics. They associate anything that looks old/historic with "the good old days" i.e. before the immigrants and feminists ruined everything. So they love anything historical/fantasy, until it reminds them their glorious past never existed.

my main problem with the "british food is bad" jokes are that it's old and really dated material. it's not really true, but more importantly, it's hack
'British food is bad' has been untrue for like a generation and a half at this point but really sticks around in the U.S. U.S. supermarkets are inferior to their U.K. counterparts!

this is small comfort given he has state power and i don’t but i am struck by what an obviously weak and fragile man miller is. a blubbering piss baby whose entire affect and personality is an attempt to make up for his profound feelings of inadequacy
MILLER: The US is using its military to secure our interests unapologetically in our hemisphere. We're a superpower. It's absurd we'd allow a nation in our backyard to become a supplier of resources to our adversaries

If I use more than 000.05 seconds of a theme song from a 5 episode Japanese superhero show from the 70s in a YouTube video, a robot from Sony Music Group can takes away all my ad money. We already have the mechanisms in place to police ALL of this, we just need to redirect them.

As someone who turned 16 when Nick Clegg got into government, and then destroyed his standing with the British British public within months, seeing him reduced even further to schilling for techbro c***s is so morbidly hilarious.

Used to feel sorry for you Nicky. Now I'd say you can f*** off.

”Don’t Tell The Fucking Elf”
The Lord of The Rings movies were rated PG-13. By current rules that means that each film could contain one use of the word "Fuck". Which line are you altering to insert the most useful swear word?

that choice was made in a system that provides few jobs that pay well with benefits, respect & opportunity to those who don't hale from society's "upper crust."

How many would choose to work at ICE or the military if they had better job opportunities that didn't require them to mete out torture?

I think The Express needs to find their Xmas spirit.

We're paying £476m for a regime that tear gasses babies & destroys shelters in freezing conditions.

We should divert that money to a functioning and fair migration system.
