I am that person that gives everyone a book for Christmas. Do I think my family reads these books, not sure…. Do the young nephews think I’m strange for not giving them toys. Probably. Will some day they appreciate books? I sure hope so. I am trying to spread the joy of reading here. 🥹

incredible that the oldest scam in the book — “look away from the greed and poor leadership that destroy your chance to make a career, it is the [blanks] that stole your job!” — still works

The blockade of Venezuela is a disgusting echo of U.S. imperialism in Latin America. We were lied to about Iraq and WMDs, and an entire generation paid the price.

Here we are again.

We cannot let a wannabe dictator drag us into another forever war.

Trump orders oil tankers blockade in Venezuela, labels Maduro regime a "terrorist" group
The escalation exerts unprecedented pressure on the Maduro regime, threatening to bankrupt Venezuela's already struggling economy.

Rob Reiner: I'm going to make a coming of age drama, a fantasy adventure story, a romantic comedy, a psychological horror and then a courtroom drama.

Us: Across your entire career?

Reiner: In a 6 year period.

Us: That sounds-

Reiner: -Each one will be arguably the best movie in that genre.

A reminder that before the Trump admin/RFK took over this year, the U.S. had officially declared measles eliminated in 2000.
The measles outbreak in South Carolina is “accelerating” with no end in sight following Thanksgiving and other large gatherings, state health officials say.
South Carolina measles outbreak is 'accelerating,' driving hundreds into quarantine
Some students who remain unvaccinated are now in a second 21-day quarantine since the beginning of the school year.

Layoffs have hit over 1.1M so far this year — the most since the pandemic.

Yet corporate profits continue to hit record highs, with corporations increasingly spending those earnings on stock buybacks to enrich execs and shareholders.

This is what a rigged economy looks like.

Being vegan in a small town is an experience for sure. From people calling me weird to having restaurants say, oh yes we can make this and that gluten free… and then I have to explain that vegan doesn’t mean gluten free.

A great event w/ @curtisduffy.bsky.social last night. 2 takes from it. 1- you don’t have to hold onto anger w/ circumstances or ppl, you have to do the work to let that shit go for your benefit. 2- it’s discipline that will lead you to greatness, not just passion.

Thanks for coming to Kenosha!

Up to 14 yearly subscribers (plus sold out at East View and BHB did a second order of the Fall issue) and now I’m planning a release party for the winter issue of Kenozia on January 23rd.

It is such a wonderful feeling to have people who enjoy and are excited about my zine 🥹

Brighton is one of my favorite local authors. Her books are not my normal genre but I can’t even put them down. I find myself giggling and kicking my feet (which is something I normally don’t do).

I highly recommend this series and supporting a local indie author!
Bring home a signed-and-personalized book from Brighton Walsh — an award-winning, USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestselling author.

Be sure to place your order by December 5th to get your personalized copy in time for the holidays! Place yours here: www.blue-house-books.com/.../signed-b....

Don’t normally do these kinds of things as asking for help is incredibly hard for me. However, I have decided to try and raise funds for a new computer as mine is on the outs and I need it to create my quarterly, print-only zine, Kenozia.

Donate or share if you can 🥹

Finally have WiFi back after not having internet at home for a week and a half. Plus, with the snow, I get to work from home.

Which means, I’m about to spam all the BHB posts that I missed posting to bluesky this week. 💅
