People shy away from these comparisons to Nazi Germany because it feels uncomfortable, and because we were taught (rightfully) that such comparisons are *usually* bad and hyperbolic. This time they are not. Ignoring the OBVIOUS parallels is plain stupidity at this point.

There are a lot of obscene things about this story, but the fact that there is a GoFundMe for this baby rather than millions of dollars dedicated to his lifelong care by the state of Georgia is right up there at the top. The state forced this child to be born into a life of pain and procedures.
This remains one of the most disturbing stories of the year. A 1st trimester fetus incubated in a dead woman's body against the will of her family until a very early term birth when the corpse could no longer sustain life.

Seeing how much of the right-wing on Twitter is just bot farms, kinda lays bare how much hate and hatred is a project that needs to be constantly maintained, a fire that needs to be fed all the time lest it go out for a moment, so much time, effort, and resources to keep people angry and hateful.
